History[]

Ultraman Taro[]

Birdon was a prehistoric monster bird that slept for millions of years in Mt. Okuma, along with its natural prey, Kemujira. One day when Mt. Okuma began showing signs of activity, an egg of the monster bird emerged from the lava before hatching, inadvertently creating a small eruption and releasing many of the Kemujira from its crater. Later that night, Birdon, now fully matured shortly after hatching, went on the hunt for its favorite food source: Meat. Beginning its hunt at the Okumayama Earthquake Laboratory, Birdon noticed a stray Kemujira that had hatched out of a watermelon and devoured it, along with a few scientists that had been attacked by the bug prior. After destroying the lab hoping to find more food, Birdon took off into the night.

The next day, Birdon spotted a giant mutated Kemujira, who was locked in battle with Ultraman Taro. Viewing the ultra as a threat to its food source, and noticing that the ultra was trying to protect the blinded Takeshi, Birdon immediately attacked Taro, stabbing him with its beak multiple times. [Two Giant Monsters Close in on Taro!] Taro, having already been weakened in battle against Kemujira, and unable to protect himself from Birdon's fatal assaults, succumbed to his injuries. Ultraman Taro was dead. With the ultra out of the way, Birdon noticed that the giant Kemujira was trying to flee from the battle and confronted the monster next. Kemujira tried to conceal itself with its poison gas, but Birdon dispersed its disguise with its hurricane winds. With the giant bug defenseless, Birdon assaulted it with its beak as well, tearing apart and devouring the Kemujira before finishing it off by plucking out its eyes with its beak. Satisfied with its kill and its meal, Birdon flew away. Later that night after realizing that there was a shortage of Kemujira, Birdon quickly turned to another more plentiful food source: humans. Birdon then began attacked anyone that came near Mt. Okuma, with the monster bird attacking a passing passenger plane and devouring everyone aboard it.

The next day, The monster bird emerged from its home to use a nearby lake as its birdbath. As Birdon was bathing though, ZAT returned to avenge Taro by coating the monster bird in a giant container of birdlime. Birdon was coated in the substance, but thanks to its body already being wet, the birdlime was ineffective in keeping Birdon grounded. With no other option, ZAT tried fighting back with their weapons, which only annoyed Birdon even further. Suddenly during the scuffle between the team and the monster, another ultra appeared on the scene: Zoffy (whom had arrived earlier to preserve Taro for his ressurection). Realizing that a nearby hospital was in trouble (one that Takeshi was residing in), Zoffy battled against the monster. At first, the veteran ultra managed to do well against Birdon, even striking it with his Z-Ray. However, the battle quickly shifted back to Birdon's favor when the enraged monster set the ultra's head on fire with its flames. Like with Taro, Birdon manhandled Zoffy in battle and stabbed him with its beak multiple times. Unable to protect himself from Birdon's fatal assaults, Zoffy succumbed to his injuries and died as well. Victorious, Birdon flew away once more. [Zoffy Died! Taro Died Too!]

With both ultras out of the way, Birdon would then terrorize Japan in search of food. Meat Warehouses, Fish Farms, and even Zoos were all targets for Birdon's hunger. Hoping to save where the monster bird would strike next, ZAT tried to enforce a meat and fish ban, as well as a curfew to keep the populace safe, as well as keep Birdon away. This however made Birdon even more hungry, who began attacking playgrounds and building complexes. During one of the monster bird's attacks, ZAT finally had enough and tried to fight back. Their weapons however were no match for Birdon, who was only annoyed by them and went on the offensive. Suddenly just as the monster bird was about to attack Kenichi from inside one of ZAT's cars, Ultraman Taro reappeared, having been revived by the Mother of Ultra. Rejuvenated and equipped with the newly-crafted King Bracelet, Taro wasted no time in attacking Birdon by repeatedly electrocuting the monster bird. However, he was forced to rescue Kenichi from Birdon's flames, allowing Birdon to escape.

As Birdon fled to recover from its injuries, Kotaro learned from Takeshi of a connection that his pet canaries have to Birdon's appearance. After rallying the information to ZAT, the team not only discovered that Birdon's nest was inside Mt. Okumo, but that the monster had been laying eggs. Fearing that dozens of Birdons could appear if any of them hatched, ZAT immediately opened fire on the nest, destroying the eggs in the process. Alerted of its chicks' deaths, Birdon became infuriated and attacked ZAT relentlessly. Knowing that ZAT was in trouble once the monster bird took down their Whale, Kotaro once again transformed into Ultraman Taro to face Birdon in a final confrontation. Taro used his King Bracelet once more, this time as a muzzle to keep Birdon from using her flames or her beak to fight back with, which allowed the ultra to pummel the monster bird into submission. Finally, Taro managed to lure the enraged Birdon towards Mt. Okumo, and after retrieving and using the King Bracelet to confuse Birdon by separating into two copies of himself, Birdon was tricked into crashing into the crater of the volcano, agigating it and causing another eruption, one that consumed Birdon and her nest, finally ending the life of the monster bird. At first, Birdon was able to keep Gomora at bay using his Hurricane Winds and continuously trying to attack Gomora with his poisonous beak. However after a short battle, Gomora managed to catch Birdon in his claws and fired at Birdon with his Super Oscillatory Wave at point-blank, destroying Birdon in short order. Ultraman Ginga S[]

Birdon was one of the many spark dolls that was in the possession of Exceller and his followers.[3] Bolst the Alien Guts MonsLived into the monster in order to eliminate Ultraman Ginga and Ultraman Victory, intent on fixing his previous failed attempts to kill the ultras. As the monster attacked Shizukugaoka, he was immediately confronted by Ultraman Victory, who fought it by himself (due to Hikaru being incarcerated by UPG's new management taking over their base). Victory tried his best and the two appeared to be evenly matched. However, the fight got serious when the ultra was poisoned by Birdon stabbing his shoulder with its beak, leaving his left arm paralyzed. Despite being debilitated though, Victory managed to fight on, and after summoning his King Joe Launcher to shoot out Birdon's poison sacs, Victory destroyed the monster with his Victorium Shoot. [Split! UPG]

Ultraman X[]

Birdon is one of the many spark dolls that were transformed into monsters when an Ultra Flare hit the Earth.[4] Birdon was found in Ookumayama when the monster was building a nest out of buildings, electrical towers, and other structures. When Xio arrived on the scene, they discovered that not only was Birdon pregnant, but that the nest Birdon made was filled with people, who were trapped inside of it. Xio tried their best to lead Birdon away to rescue the civilians, but Birdon was fiercely protective of her future offspring and wouldn't go down without a fight. Shrugging off opposition from the team, Birdon managed to ambush Xio in a surprise attack and nearly killed Hayato and Wataru. Luckily, Daichi transformed into Ultraman X just in time to rescue them from crashing, and Ultraman X battled with Birdon instead.

The battle however was roughly at a standstill, with Birdon managing to inject Ultraman X with her poison, only for Xio to destroy one of Birdon's poison sacs in retaliation. During the fight, Dr. Guruman rallies Rui and Mamoru to have them send Ultraman X one of their cyber cards, thus allowing X to merge with the Cyber Monsters. Sending their data of Gomora to the ultra, X is given an upgrade: The Cyber Gomora Armor. With his new Mons-Armor ability, Ultraman X was now protected by Birdon's beak and poison, and after pummeling the monster, Ultraman X destroyed Birdon with Gomora's Super Oscillation Wave, reducing her (and her young) back into spark doll form. Ultraman Orb[]

Ultraman Orb: THE ORIGIN SAGA[]

Birdon was one of the few monsters that were already residing on Planet Zain, as well as one of the many test subjects who was already placed under the control of the Bezelbs' Kugutsu. [Echo] Brainwashed and crazed by their influence, Birdon was unleashed onto Ultraman Orb The First, who had arrived to seek out the missing Captain Shinra. Orb however was quickly overpowered by the monster and a hoard of Bezelbs that were closing in on the ultra. Luckily, backup had arrived in the form of Ultraman Dyna, and the two ultras worked together to stave off the monsters. Dyna was left to deal with the oncoming Bezelbs, while Orb was left to deal with Birdon, and due to Gai's inexperience, Birdon easily beat down Orb with little trouble. Dyna however managed to destroy most of the Bezelbs and the veteran ultra easily dealt with Birdon, by frightening it away with a superpowered finger-flick between the monster's eyes. [Chase] Birdon would later return and join a Bemstar in escorting Dr. Psychi on his way to Earth, where the two monsters briefly fought Orb once again in Earth's atmosphere. What became of the two monsters afterwards is unknown. [Reason]
