Doragory (ドラゴリー, Doragorī) is a Terrible-Monster that first appeared in the TV series, Ultraman Ace.

Subtitle: Moth Terrible-Monster (蛾超獣, Ga Chōjū)

History[]

Ultraman Ace[]

Doragory first appeared by attacking TAC's HQ directly, intent on stopping the team from constructing the Maria 2 to stop Star Goran from colliding with Earth. TAC was quickly on the scene to stop the Terrible-Monster's assault, but none of their weapons were effective against it. To make matters worse, Hokuto and Minami were put in a risky situation. As Doragory's rampage was going on, Alien Metron Jr was inside TAC's HQ, having taken the body of Yamanaka's fiancée, Maya Takashina, and was preparing to sabotage the team's organization from the inside, and both ultra hosts knew about this. Knowing that they needed to stop Doragory and fast, Hokuto and Minami transformed into Ultraman Ace to face Doragory himself. The ultra and the Terrible-Monster fought fiercely, but with time quickly running out, Ace used a dangerous technique known as the "Ultra Barrier," which managed to seal Doragory into a subspace in the atmosphere for the time being, but at the cost of one of his hosts becoming badly drained of their energy. It was Minami who took the brunt of the recoil, leaving Hokuto to carry out the rest of the mission by himself.

To his and TAC's misfortune though, Doragory's rampage was the perfect distraction for Alien Metron Jr to carry out his deed and cripple TAC's HQ from the inside out, forcing the team to scramble in getting the Maria 2 built before Goran's collision. Time passed and after Maya was revealed to be the alien's host, Doragory was freed from Ace's imprisonment by the Yapool, who unleashed their Terrible-Monster onto Ace as the ultra was engaged in battle with Alien Metron Jr. To make matters worse, Ace was confronted by a third opponent: Muruchi II. [Monster vs. Terrible-Monster vs. Alien] The alien, the Terrible-Monster, and the monster all triple-teamed the ultra, but during the skirmish, Muruchi II had accidentally bumped into Doragory, which enraged the Terrible-Monster into attacking the monster instead. Doragory mercilessly attacked Muruchi II until he viciously murdered the monster by tearing off its jaw and leg in an incredibly gory manner. Despite the kerfuffle, Doragory and Alien Metron Jr. resumed brutalizing Ace together, forcing the ultra to quickly end the fight by again utilizing his "Ultra Barrier" technique, which sealed both Doragory and Metron Jr. into the atmosphere once more. Minami again took the recoil from the technique, which put her in critical condition.

Time passed, and just as the Maria 2 was finished and ready to launch, Doragory and Alien Metron Jr. returned, intent on stopping the missile before its launch. TAC was already on the scene and immediately fought back with its weapons, but again, they had no effect of the combined might of the alien and the Terrible-Monster. Hokuto and the critically weakened Minami were also on the scene of the attack, and after briefly assisting TAC in fending off the duo, they were both able to transform into Ultraman Ace to face the duo once again. Although Ace's strength was halved due to Minami's weakened state, the ultra's distraction successfully allowed the Maria 2 to be launched, and during the fight, Ace managed to kill Alien Metron Jr. with his Ultra Guillotine attack. Doing so however only weakened Ace even further, allowing Doragory to beat down the ultra until he too was at death's door. Finally just as it seemed that Ace was finished, Maria 2 destroyed Goran, and the returning sunlight instantly revived Ace, giving him a second wind. Revitalized, Ace immediately attacked Doragory, manhandling the Terrible-Monster with little effort. Finally after having a hole punched straight through the Terrible-Monster's gut, Doragory was destroyed after Ace decapitated him with the Ace Blade, following up by firing his Metallium Ray. Ultra Galaxy Mega Monster Battle[]

Doragory reappeared a few times throughout both Ultra Galaxy Mega Monster Battle and its sequel, Never Ending Odyssey.[2][3]

First Series[]

Doragory was one of the many monsters that inhabited Planet Boris. Doragory was also one of the first two monsters to appear on Vincent Island, (A safe haven on Boris which Ultraman had been telepathically protecting since Bullton began summoning monsters to attack all over the planet). While Gomora and the ZAP SPACY were engaged in battle against Velokron (the first of the two monsters that had already arrived on Vincent Island,) Doragory made his presence known by ambushing Gomora and the two Terrible-Monsters proceeded to double-team Gomora until Rei summoned Eleking to assist his monster by battling Doragory while Gomora was left to resume fighting Velokron. Despite the odds being evened though, the Terrible-Monsters' strength still outclassed the two monsters individually. However with the continual assistance of the ZAP SPACY helping Rei, Doragory was soon weakened by a blast from Gomora's Super Oscillatory Ray, allowing Eleking to regain the advantage again and beat down the Terrible-Monster until he destroyed Doragory by firing an electrical bolt of lightning at the Terrible-Monster. Second Series[]

Doragory was one of two monsters who had belonged to a Reiblood Alien Metron, and was seen in battle against Burst Mode Reimon and his Reionic Burst Gomora. Despite Doragory's status as a Terrible-Monster however, the new power of Reionic Burst Gomora easily outclassed Doragory in battle as the monster easily and sadistically brutalizes the Terrible-Monster until Doragory was nearly killed by Reionic Burst Gomora's Super Oscillatory Ray. Realizing that his battle was lost against Burst Mode Reimon's berserk monster, Alien Metron desperately recalled Doragory before he could be destroyed. [Disturbing Reunion]

Ultraman Ginga[]

Original Series[]

Doragory was one of the many monsters (and ultras) who were transformed into spark dolls during the Dark Spark War.[4] Its spark doll was used by Alien Valky when the alien tried to goad Kenta Watarai into using his feelings of rejection (when Hikaru and his friends refused to tell them their secret about Ultraman Ginga) to corrupt him into DarkLiving into the terrible-monster. However after a confrontation on the Jean-Star and later at Furuboshi Elementary, Hikaru managed to knock him back to his senses before he could succumb and transform. After learning what had happened, Kenta apologized and presented Hikaru with Doragory's spark doll.

With Kenta's corruption thwarted, Tomoya Ichijoji arrived inside of Jean-Killer to deal with Hikaru himself. Knowing what needed to be done, Hikaru UltraLived with Doragory's Spark Doll to face the robot. Doragory and Jean-Killer fought fiercely, with the terrible-monster trying to peak into who the robot's pilot was. Jean-Killer however proved to be a much more powerful fighter, after blasting Doragory with his Jean Flasher attack, the robot struck the terrible-monster with a flurry of punches until Hikaru was forced to switch out Doragory for Ultraman Ginga. Ultraman Ginga S[]

Doragory was one of the many spark dolls that was in the possession of Exceller and his followers.[5] Bolst the Alien Guts duplicated himself and MonsLived into the Terrible-Monster (while his copy MonsLived into Velokron) in order to eliminate Ultraman Ginga and Ultraman Victory, intent on fixing his previous failed attempts to kill the ultras. As the Terrible-Monsters attacked Shizukugaoka, they were immediately confronted by Ultraman Victory, who fought against the duo by himself. Victory tried his best, but with his opponents being naturally stronger Terrible-Monsters, and with Hikaru unable to transform into Ultraman Ginga due to Gouki refusing to let him go off on his own, the ultra was quickly overwhelmed by the Terrible-Monsters. Suddenly Doragory bit into Victory's arm, poisoning the ultra and greatly weakening him. Believing that he was victorious, Bolst mocked the ultra by leaving Victory to die a slow and painful, and thus Doragory and Velokron took their leave.

Later, Bolst returned and MonsLived into the Terrible-Monsters once more, this time to deal with Ginga after Exceller chastised him for not finishing the job. With Victory being healed by Shepardon, Doragory and Velokron were confronted by Ultraman Ginga instead, who immediately turned into Ginga Storium to try and gain the upper-hand in strength. Despite the power-up (and some assistance from UPG), Ginga was just as helpless on his own as Victory was against the Terrible-Monsters, and he too was overwhelmed by their combined might. Knowing that Hikaru/Ginga needed his help, Sho left the Underground as he was still being healed, and transformed into Ultraman Victory to fight Doragory and Velokron. However with Victory still being weakened, there was nothing he could do, and Doragory was left to deal with Ginga while Velokron dealt with Victory. Luckily, Shepardon came to the rescue, and after taking a brutal attack from Velokron and being turned into Victory's newest Ultlance: the Shepardon Saber, Ginga struck Velokron and Doragory simultaneously with his Ginga Spark Lance while they were distracted, paralyzing them both and allowing Victory to destroy them with his Shepardon Saber Flash attack. [Holy Sword of the Future]

Ultra Fight Victory[]

Doragory reappeared in the segment series, Ultra Fight Victory.[6]

Doragory (along with fellow Terrible-Monsters, Velokron and Vakishim) appeared on Planet Gua, sent by Yapool to fend off the Leo brothers, Leo and Astra from stopping the distortion that was created by Yapool to revive the fallen "Space Emperor." While Leo and Astra were able to survive the Terrible-Monsters' onslaught, the beasts' distraction was a success as Yapool managed to send the Victorium Core into the distortion to power up the Emperor's arrival. Luckily, Ultraman Ace, Ginga, and Victory arrived on the scene (after they had battled against Victory Killer and Lunatyx on Golgotha) to assist the Leo brothers in destroying the Terrible-Monsters, only for Yapool to enter the fight and assist his beasts in holding off the Ultra Brothers from interfering with the Emperor's revival. Unfortunately for Yapool, the battle was still 5-on-4, and the Ultra Brothers ultimately won the fight, with Doragory and Vakishim being destroyed by the combined attacks of Leo's "Leo Kick" and Astra's "Astra Kick."
