Eleking (エレキング, Erekingu) is a monster that first appeared in Ultraseven. A water-dwelling, monochromatic monster that's the pet of the Alien Pitt, Eleking’s long tail and electrical abilities make him a challenging opponent for an Ultra Warrior. Starting off as a small tadpole, Eleking quickly grows to 53 meters.[1] He has since then become one of the most popular and reoccurring monsters in the Ultra Series.

History[]

Ultraseven[]

Eleking was a space monster that belonged to a pair of Alien Pitt that were hiding out in Kiso Valley.[2] Eleking would initially start out in a small tadpole form, but as it hid in Lake Azuma, the creature grew in size until it was the size of a giant monster. Once Dan found one the aliens (who was disguised as a young human girl, and had stolen his Ultra Eye from him), the alien ordered her monster to kill Dan before he could reach her. Dan tried fighting the monster, but his pistol was nothing compared to Eleking's Discharge Ray, and with the monster's electrical properties jamming him from reaching the Ultra Garrison, Dan summoned his capsule monster Miclas to do battle with the space monster instead. Miclas and Eleking fought fiercely, with Miclas's natural strength surpassing that of Eleking's. However once Eleking started pummeling Miclas with its tail, Dan's capsule monster was at the mercy of the space monster, who then wrapped its tail around Miclas and electrocuted him into submission, forcing Dan to call him back for his safety.

With Miclas out of the way, Eleking then turned its attention to the Ultra Garrison, who had just arrived shortly after the two monsters' battle. Like with Dan, the team blasted at the space monster with their Ultra Hawk 1, but it was nothing compared to Eleking's Discharge Ray, which knocked their jet out of the sky. Eleking pursued the team as they were trying to escape on a raft and tried to crush them with a landslide of boulders. However, the space monster was thwarted when Dan transformed into Ultraseven (having retrieved his Ultra Eye from the Alien Pitt after a fight) and fought the monster himself. Eleking wrapped its tail around Ultraseven and tried electrocuting the ultra into submission like it did with Miclas. The ultra however was far stronger than his capsule monster, and after destroying the space monster's horns with its Emerium Ray, Ultraseven decapitated Eleking with his Eye Slugger.[3][The Secret of the Lake]

Eleking Re - ultra series

Re-Eleking

The original Eleking that died in battle against Ultraseven had somehow been revived after absorbing Lunar Rays of the full-moon. Having been revived, "Re-Eleking" (再生エレキング, Saisei Erekingu) immediately went on a rampage in a small village when it was confronted by ZAT. ZAT used their weapons, but nothing they had could harm the newly-revived body of Re-Eleking. Then during the skirmish, dawn broke and the sun rose while the moon set. Now cut off from its new power source, Re-Eleking withered in pain as he grew weaker. ZAT took advantage of the opportunity by attacking him once more, but soon after their chance came, Re-Eleking disappeared into a cloud of smoke. With no proof of a fatal injury, ZAT was put on high alert for when the monster would return, which was predicted to be the next full-moon. In reality, Re-Eleking had burrowed itself underground, where three boys: Tarzan, Wukong, and Sasuke kept the monster's hideout a secret from everyone else.

Sure enough, when the next full-moon appeared, so did Re-Eleking, who re-emerged from underground to resume its rampage. ZAT again tried to fight Re-Eleking, but after the monster revealed a new flamethrower ability it now possessed, ZAT was quickly taken down. Believing that they could handle the monster themselves, Tarzan, Wukong, and Sasuke goaded the monster into imitating them cartwheeling. Re-Eleking did so and after a botched attempt left him dazed, Tarzan made a lasso around the monster's horn and tied it to a tree, hoping that it would pull the monster's horn off. The attempt failed, and after Re-Eleking regained consciousness, it attacked the boys. Finally once Kotaro tried to take on the monster himself, he transformed into Ultraman Taro to face Re-Eleking instead. At first, the ultra struggled against Re-Eleking due to the monster's fire attacks. However after noticing the lasso that was still around the monster's horn, Taro seized the lasso and transformed it into a chain to tighten its strength. Finally after leaping into the air, Taro tore off Re-Eleking's horns, causing the monster's head to ooze a tremendous amount of foam until the monster exploded.

Afterwards, Taro placed Eleking's horns on the moon itself so that the monster would never return again. [Monster Eleking Barks at the Full Moon]

Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy Legend The Movie[]

Eleking reappeared in the film, Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy Legends The Movie as one of Ultraman Belial's revived 100 Monster Army.

Eleking teamed up with fellow monsters, Alien Guts, Verokron, Black King Joe, King Pandon, Nova, BanpiraFire Golza, Doragory, Alien Metron, and Gan-Q to take on Ultraseven in the Monster Graveyard. He was Ultraseven's first kill after Ultraseven destroyed him with the Emerium Ray.

Later, Eleking joined the rest of Ultraman Belial's Monsters in forming the Conglomerate Monster, Belyudra. Eleking is one of the monsters that makes up the left horn.

Ultraman Ginga S[]

Eleking was one of the few spark dolls that was in the possession of Exceller and Android One Zero.[7] One Zero first used Eleking one night to seek out more Victorium crystals to send to Exceller, inadvertently causing several blackouts to occur all throughout Shizukugaoka. The next day after procuring another Victorium crystal, One Zero MonsLived into Eleking again after being being confronted by and shot at by Arisa of UPG. Taking the offense, Eleking went on a rampage in Shizukugaoka until it was confronted by Sho, who blasted the monster with the spark doll of EX Red King before transforming into Ultraman Victory to face the monster himself. Victory managed to do well in battle at first, but was soon overwhelmed by a combination of Eleking's Discharge Ray and electrified tail.

Before the monster could do anymore harm, Hikaru transformed into Ultraman Ginga to assist Victory in battle. However, with Ginga already injured before the fight (some debris fell on Hikaru before Victory faced the monster), the second ultra was quickly overwhelmed by Eleking in short order. Luckily thanks to Ginga's intervention, Victory received a second wind. The revitalized ultra wasted little time in overpowering Eleking with his Victorium slash attacks before summoning his EX Red King Knuckle to bludgeon the monster into a pulp. Finally once the monster was weakened, Victory struck Eleking with his Victorium Shoot, reducing it back into a spark doll once more. Victory would then use its power to create one of the ultra's many Victory Lances, with the spark doll taking the form of the monster's tail, known as the "Eleking Tail".[Ginga vs. Victory]

Ultraman Mebius[]

Lim Eleking was created as an offshoot of the original Eleking when GUYS attempted to use the monster's data to power-up their Maquette Monster of Miclas. However due to the two monsters' battle in the past, the data was partially rejected and a miniature version of Eleking was created as a result, thanks in part to the Nanomachines that were scattered around GUYS's HQ.

At first the creature was a nuisance to the team (with the exception of Konomi, who found it to be adorable) as it would feed on the HQ's power supply (at one point electrocuting George,) form multiple versions of itself, and evade capture due to having a 1-minute time limit as well (and also for possessing the invisibility data of Neronga and Eledortus.) However after the defeat of Bogarlmons, the team eventually learned to live with the creature, and instead used Lim Eleking as both a pet and mascot for GUYS. Lim Eleking would continue to live and interact with the members of GUYS (mostly Konomi) until the final battle with Alien Empera, where the poor creature was ripped apart after an Imperializer destroyed the team's particle accelerator (the machine that gave Lim Eleking life, and powered the Maquette Monsters.) After the battle though, the accelerator had enough power to create a Lim Eleking to have it join the team in saying goodbye to Mirai/Ultraman Mebius as he was leaving Earth.

  • Moonlight Fire Cannon (月光火砲, Gekkō Kahō): While no longer able to generate electric attacks anymore, Re-Eleking can fire a stream of flames from its mouth and the tip of its tail. The temperature of the flames reaches 100,000 degrees celsius, and it is said that Re-Eleking uses what remains of its electricity to increase the power output of its flames.
  • Hibernation State: When the moon is not full and the sun is out, Re-Eleking enters a dormant state inside its horns to hide until it can absorb more lunar energy from the full-moon.
Weakness
Due to the monster not being a living entity, but rather its horns bathed in moonlight, Re-Eleking cannot exist unless the moon is full. Once the moon is gone, Re-Eleking becomes severely weakened.
