Kane Kosugi (ケイン・コスギ, Kein Kosugi) born Takeshi Kosugi (小杉 健, Kosugi Takeshi) is an American martial artist, actor, and media personality. He is the son of martial arts star Sho Kosugi, who also voiced Ultraman Powered himself.

A year after finishing Ultraman: The Ultimate Hero (Ultraman Powered in Japan), Kane went on to Super Sentai, as he portrayed Jiraiya in Ninja Sentai Kakuranger.

Kane Kosugi made his return to Ultraman in 2020 but as the English voice of Ultraman Powered in Ultra Galaxy Fight: The Absolute Conspiracy.

Biography[]

Born October 11, 1974 in Los Angeles. He began his entertainment career in the 1983 American martial arts/thriller Movie Revenge of the Ninja as Kane Osaki alongside with his father who portrayed Kosugi's character's father Cho Osaki. Kane Kosugi went to starred in multiple Movies and TV Series before he was casted as Jiraiya/Ninja Black in the 1994 TV Series (and later movie) Ninja Sentai Kakuranger and as Kenichi Kai/Ultraman Powered's Human Host in the 1995 TV Series Ultraman: The Ultimate Hero (that was originally released as Home Video in 1993) with his father voiced Ultraman Powered in the Japanese Dub version. Kosugi later reprise his role as Jiraiya in the 1996 Movie Chouriki Sentai Ohranger: Ole vs. Kakuranger.

In 2004, he starred in the Toho Kaiju Movie Godzilla: Final Wars as Kazama.

Almost 25 or 27 years later, he return to the Ultra Series Franchise, voicing Ultraman Powered (who was originally voiced by his father in the japanese dub of Ultraman: The Ultimate Hero) in the english dub version of Ultra Galaxy Fight: The Absolute Conspiracy.

In 2022, he was casted into the role of Azuma/Kamen Rider Daimon in the Kamen Rider Revice Summer Movie.

He is the son of martial arts film star Sho Kosugi, and older brother to martial arts actor Shane Kosugi and Golfer Ayeesha Kosugi.

  • Kane is the second English speaking Japanese actor who portrayed a host of an Ultraman right after Australian actor Dore Kraus, who portrayed as Jack Shindo/Ultraman Great in Ultraman: Towards the Future.
  • Kane Kosugi is the first Tokusatsu Actor to starred in the 3 big tokusatsu franchise (Ultraman, Super Sentai, and Kamen Rider) while also becoming the transformed hero (Ultraman Powered, Ninja Black, and Kamen Rider Daimon).
