Spittle (スピットル, Supittoru) is a monster that appeared in Ultraman Cosmos.

Ultraman Cosmos[]
Spittle was a nocturnal monster that lived underground near a newly-built airport in Area J-3. When the airport began shifting its flights to pass over Spittle's underground home, the monster became more and more disturbed by the noise of their passing planes. Eventually, the monster began to feel threatened, and with it also caring for an egg in its nest, Spittle began coming to the surface to shoot down any passing planes that got too close. Team EYES was soon alerted of the monster's presence, and sprung into action to fend it off. During their operation, Musashi recklessly tried to tranquilize Spittle by firing a sedative at the monster's nerve center on the back of its head, but Spittle became agitated by the noise of his TECCH No. 4 and shot it down with its Acid. As Spittle started burrowing away, Musashi tried to transform into Ultraman Cosmos, but the Cosmo Pluck wouldn't respond because of Musashi's callousness, allowing the monster to retreat.
Sometime later, Spittle resurfaced once more, heading straight for the airport to silence the noises once and for all. Once again, Team EYES sprang into action when the monster's trajectory was also heading straight for a crashing jumbo jet that was falling out the sky. Musashi, having learned from his previous mistake and learning about the monster's reasons for rampaging, distracted Spittle so that Fubuki could fire the sedative at the monster's nerve center instead. Spittle however once again shot down his jet with his acid once again before Fubuki could take the shot. Fortunately, Ultraman Cosmos was responsive this time, and Musashi transformed into the ultra to face the monster himself. Cosmos managed to fend off Spittle's assaults by wearing down the monster physically, and after the ultra managed to incapacitate it by wrapping up Spittle's head with his Moon Reverspike technique, Cosmos restrained the monster, allowing Fubuki to fire the sedative, knocking Spittle out cold.[Fly! Abilities[]
- Burrowing: Being from the underground, Spittle can burrow at high speeds.
- Acid: Spittle can spew out a black dissolving fluid from its mouth. It can stops an organism's nerve functions and mechanical circuits.
- Weakness
A round spot on the back of Spittle's head acts as the monster's nerve center. If the spot can be shot at with precision, Spittle will be paralyzed and susceptible.
