Vakishim (バキシム, Bakishimu) is a Terrible-Monster that first appeared in Ultraman Ace.

  • Subtitle: One-Horned Terrible-Monster (一角超獣, Ikkaku Chōjū)

History[]

Ultraman Ace[]

Vakishim was created by Yapool by using their science to transform a caterpillar into a terrible-monster. The beast first appeared by breaking out of a red portal in the sky above a valley. While Minami was on patrol, the terrible-monster destroyed a bridge that a young boy was on, as well as shot down an airline plane that was flying nearby, murdering everyone on board before disappearing back into the portal it came out of. Minami was quickly suspended from TAC due to her lack of proof of the beast's existence, as well as the team's own skepticism, which allowed Vakishim to take the form of the boy that was on the bridge earlier (whose named was revealed to be "Shiro Nakamori" after Hokuto found the boy's hat while he was on patrol in Minami's place). Following Hokuto to the home of Shiro's grandparents, "Shiro" attempted to kill Hokuto with his own gun, but after his ambush failed, the terrible-monster shed its disguise and fled the scene once more. However, Hokuto's search for Vakishim came to an abrupt end, as he too was suspended by TAC after he was given a DUI (during Hokuto's visit with Shiro's grandparents, he was given some sake by the elderly couple). With the hosts of Ultraman Ace unable to oppose it now, Vakishim's insidious nature came into full-view, as "Shiro" went on a murderous rampage in his home village, slaughtering the other elder villagers, including his own grandparents.

It wasn't long until TAC saw the beast's true colors when they found "Shiro's" victims, as well as the fuel lines of Hokuto's Falcon having been cut. Realizing that Hokuto and Minami were framed and innocent all along, both of their suspensions were lifted and they assisted TAC in hunting down the disguised terrible-monster while it was still in the vicinity. In doing so however, the Yapool informed Vakishim that TAC'S HQ was defenseless now that the team was searching for it. "Shiro" shed his disguise and became Vakishim once more, fleeing the scene and teleporting to the HQ to attack it directly. Although TAC had some help in the form of Mikawa and Kaji, there was little they could do against Vakishim's missiles. Hokuto and Minami attempted to fight back with their Falcons, but Minami's jet was quickly taken down by the beast's missiles. With only one option left, Hokuto and Minami transformed into Ultraman Ace to face Vakishim himself. At first the ultra and the Terrible-Monster fought to a standstill, but after Ace managed to counter and evade all of Vakishim's weapons, the ultra stunned it with his Ace Spark attack and finally finished off Vakishim by decapitating it with an Ultra Slash.

Later, it was revealed that the real Shiro, as well as his parents, were killed three days prior to Vakishim's appearance. Although the cause of their deaths was unknown, TAC suspected that the Yapool were the culprits, what with using the boy's body as a disguise for Vakishim as part of their latest nefarious plan.[1][Burn! Ultra Galaxy Mega Monster Battle: Never Ending Odyssey[]

Vakishim was one of two monsters who had belonged to a Reiblood Alien Metron.[3] After Alien Metron noticed that the ZAP SPACY were trying to flee from their fight, Alien Metron unleashed his Vakishim to shoot down the ZAP SPACY's Pendragon (while Rei was inside) to ensure he would get his revenge (he had confronted Rei prior for a rematch after being brutally assaulted by him in his Burst Mode). Despite some fancy flying by the ZAP SPACY, Vakishim managed to shoot down the Pendragon from his portal. After which, the Terrible-Monster emerged and landed, awaiting for Rei for accept the challenge.

Rei, after being provoked by the Alien Pedan, Dail, had transformed into Burst Mode Reimon once more, and after summoning his Reionic Burst Gomora, both Monster and Terrible-Monster did battle. The battle was long and brutal but despite Vakishim managing to put up a better fight than Alien Metron's Doragory, like before, the power of Reionic Burst Gomora was still more superior as the monster sadistically brutalized the beast. Finally to ensure that Vakishim (and Alien Metron) wouldn't get away this time, Reionic Burst Gomora stabbed Vakishim with his horn, charging the beast's innards with his Super Oscillatory Ray from the inside, destroying Vakishim.[At the End of the Runway]

Ultraman Ginga S[]

Vakishim was one of the many spark dolls that was in the possession of Exceller and his followers.[4] Android One Zero MonsLived into the Terrible-Monster, hoping that it would be useful in retrieving Victorium, but Vakishim was immediately confronted by Ultraman Ginga. Thanks to Vakishim's natural strength as a Terrible-Monster and its additional firepower, the Terrible-Monster managed to easily fend off Ginga with little effort. Unknown to the alien and the android however, the Terrible-Monster was already being possessed by his original creator: Yapool. Throwing One Zero out of his creation to regain control of it himself, Yapool sent Vakishim back to his original dimension before it could continue fighting Ginga, keeping him on standby while Yapool chose to deal with the ultras himself.

Later, once Sho had learned of Yapool's possession of Gouki, he transformed into Ultraman Victory to deal with the alien, only to be confronted by a returning Vakishim. Victory fought the Terrible-Monster with his King Joe Launcher, which managed to hold off Vakishim for most of the fight until Yapool ordered his Terrible-Monster to assist him in fighting a returning Ultraman Ginga in another part of Shizukugaoka. With Victory in hot pursuit, Vakishim and the ultra dragged their battle through Yapool's dimension and to Yapool and Ginga's location before both parties went to join the other. With Ginga facing Yapool and Victory continuing his fight with Vakishim, the Victorian ultra used his new Gudon Whip to strike Vakishim over and over until the Terrible-Monster couldn't fight back. Finally after struck repeatedly, Vakishim was finally destroyed by Victory's Victorium Shoot.[Friend and Devil]

Ultra Fight Victory[]

Vakishim reappeared in the segment series, Ultra Fight Victory.[5]

Vakishim (along with fellow super beasts, Verokron and Doragory) appeared on Planet Gua, sent by Yapool to fend off the Leo Brothers, Leo and Astra from stopping the distortion that was created by Yapool to revive the fallen "Space Emperor." While Leo and Astra were able to survive the Terrible-Monster's onslaught, the Terrible-Monster's distraction was a success as Yapool managed to send the Victorium Core into the distortion to power up the Emperor's arrival. Luckily, Ultraman Ace, Ginga, and Victory arrived on the scene (after they had battled against Victory-Killer and Lunaticks on Golgotha) to assist the Leo Brothers in destroying the Terrible-Monsters, only for Yapool to enter the fight and assist his Terrible-Monster in holding off the Ultra Brothers from interfering with the Emperor's revival. Unfortunately for Yapool, the battle was still 5-on-4, and the Ultra Brothers ultimately won the fight, with Doragory and Vakishim being destroyed by the combined attacks of Leo's "Leo Kick" and Astra's "Astra Kick."
